Joe Mesmar is a montreal-born Techno DJ. Performing for only two years, he already has 22 EPs with a guarantee of more to come.
What is your present state of mind?
I’m in a very energetic, reactive state. I have been feeding off the positive energy that my friends and supporters have been giving me towards my music and in return it has kept me motivated and focused on keeping the quality high.
Tell us about your musical journey up until now?
The journey up until now has been pretty straight forward. I direct a certain amount of my day towards production and sound design and give a part of my week towards the business aspect of promotions and distributions. I have been blessed with having friends in the industry who make this journey a lot easier to deal with.
Name 5 industry people who have influenced your career as an artist in Canada.
I have been influenced by many great talented artists, but right now I’m mostly inspired by, Josh Wink, UMEK, Alan Fitzpatrick, Adam Beyer & few other more.
What projects are you currently working on?
Right now, I’m working on few originals/remixes & my upcoming releases on Bosphorus Underground Records, Naked Lunch Records, Zenbi Recordings, King Street Music, DECIDE Records, Sonika Recordings, Datacode & many more great labels. I also, own a Podcast called Minds of Sin, featuring talented Internationals every 2 weeks!
What has been your most memorable event?
My first ever rave attended in Beirut, Lebanon. They literally throw the best events in the middle east!
When not making music, where do you direct your energy?
I would either workout, hangout with friends, go to parties, or watch movies with my friends.

Witty, Imbue, straightforward, dispassionate, composed.
Who is your fictional hero and why?
I grew up spending my time listening to music, so I never really got to know or relate to any fictional characters! If anything, I realized as I got older that I don’t really relate to fictional characters so I never saw one as my hero, but that just means I looked up to people in my life more.
Who is your real-life hero and why?
Music!! it never lets you down!
If you could take any musician in the past or present to dinner, who would it be?
Adam Beyer with his wife, Ida. I mean, who wouldn’t? Haha.
What did you eat for breakfast today?
Chicken Bacon Sandwich with Chicken Salad, You don’t get a body like this eating cereal.
If you could travel in time to witness any one historical event, which would it be?
I would travel to 1906 to witness lee de forest invent the first vacuum tube amp!
